Scan2BIM at Zurich-Enge station

Modeling of the historic station complex

Back

A completely different project, as it is not airborne, is the "Scan2BIM" project of the Zurich-Enge train station in Switzerland, which BSF Swissphoto conducted together with Grünenfelder und Partner AG for the SBB in the period April - October 2020. BIM stands for Building Information Modeling and includes the detailed geometric but also functional representation of buildings or infrastructure objects. The goal of the project was to model the historic station complex in a level of detail 200-400 based on terrestrial laser scan data. For the acquisition of the 17'700 m2 large complex 1'500 scan positions were necessary. Several thousand working hours were invested in the subsequent modeling of all building elements, including lines and pipes, in order to provide the client with the optimal planning basis for the upcoming renovation and conversion work.
