Presentaion at STK
On 29 June, our head of department 3D Mapping, Stephan Landtwing, had the pleasure of giving a presentation at the symposium of the Swiss Dams Committee (STK). More than 200 experts from the water and power industry came to the two-day event to learn about "new measurement technologies for monitoring dams". BSF Swissphoto used three concrete practical examples to show how large-scale surveying of the terrain, the river bed and infrastructure using efficient methods (airborne laser scanning, aerial photogrammetry, multibeam echosounder) helps to answer a wide range of questions in the vicinity of dams: For the volume calculation of sediment deposits, for the monitoring of landslides, for the mass balances of glaciers, for the status analysis of protective forest or simply as a basis for planning construction projects, high-resolution, areal geodata provide the ideal data basis.
